Samurai's Elemental Flannel is a unique fabric woven in Niigata prefecture, an area known for its production of high quality yarn-dyed fabrics, of which this is a great example. Niigata's flannels are known for their thickness, softness, and texture, a product of the varied yarns used to weave these fabrics. This flannel, for example, is made from thick yarns that would normally be used for a heavyweight denim, with twinned yarns used for the warp for increased strength, and slubby yarns for the weft to give it a rough hand.
