White's Boots

In Connecticut, prior to the American Civil War, a man named Edward White opened a one-man shoe store with the humble intention of making good, solid boots - he would be the first in a line of bootmakers, and while he never expected his footwear to become a mainstay for loggers on the West Coast, his legacy continued with his son, John, and his grandson, Otto. After learning the craft, John began making work boots in Shenandoah Valley, where what would become the White's work boot was tested in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but it was the ever ambitious Otto who truly sought to grow the business, moving his family West, first to Idaho and later to Spokane, where White's was established and is still located to this day, making some of the finest heritage footwear in the world and tracing their heritage back to 1853!

White's Boots is a bootmaking company that has always been run by a bootmaker, at all points of its existence. This is a legacy that is built upon the handmade construction of quality boot, and White's understands that better than anyone. Hand-sewing, hand-lasting, custom-fit, comfort, and durability are all integral aspects of a pair of White's Boots, so no matter which model you choose, whether it is their most premium or most entry-level option, you can be sure that craftspeople in Spokane spent time crafting it by hand. Of course, this is all built upon Otto's innovation, studying the foot for decades to successfully create a scientific approach to bootmaking and build the ethos White's is still known for today; an attention to detail and passion for craft that has kept White's successful and beloved for over 150 years.
