The Flat Head

The Flat Head is a Japanese repro brand, inspired by the idea of "Made in USA." Mayashi Kobayashi, Flat Head's founder, is a serious vintage Americana enthusiast in all respects, whether it be fashion, music, motorcycles, or cars, and all of it directly influences The Flat Head, and how his passion for Americana is explored through it. Many years ago while running a secondhand clothing store that would eventually become The Flat Head, Mayashi came across many articles of American-made clothing. Not only did this give him the inspiration to create a made in Japan clothing brand that would reflect the values of the American-made clothing he loved so much, but it gave him the inspiration to improve upon those values and the quality of the garments.

Founded in 1996, Flat Head specializes in a core selection of Japanese made jeans, shirts, jackets, accessories, and engineer boots that unmistakably ooze Americana, but yet are quite timeless and wearable, too. This very strong selection of core pieces, as well as an ethos that prides attention to detail, and a belief that a garment is only complete once it has been worn but the customer, have jointly allowed The Flat Head to establish themselves as a forefront within the Japanese denim space.

We recommend to size up from your usual size for The Flat Head, as it is made in Japan, and runs about one size small on average.
