A classic trucker style jacket from Samurai, made from their newly developed tropical weather fabric. While these jackets are based off of a beloved vintage pattern, it has been slightly modified, with the shape resized to better fit the average person today, and constructed with a more robust sewing specification. Cut with two chest pockets, two handwarmer pockets that are sewn into the waistband to also create two interior pockets, size adjuster tabs, and finished with black urea buttons. 

Samurai created this fabric through analyzing vintage military fabrics, originally developed for tropical regions over half a century ago, and then taking that knowledge to Japan's world-class textile artisans in order to create something incredible. The resulting fabric could be compared to a Panama weave in the sense that both incorporate interlocking threads in order to create a lightweight fabric with a somewhat mesh-like texture, but it's not quite the same. 

The functionality of this sort of material has already been proven for decades, but Samurai has given this fabric their own spin by incorporating slubby yarns and manipulating the gauge of the fabric at their Banshu factory, a mill with over a century of history, and the only mill in Japan with the technology to produce and refine this fabric into something even more functional than the original. Samurai has incorporated slubby weft yarns to give it more texture, a more comfortable feel, and to create more separation from your body for airflow. Finally, Samurai's tropical weather fabric has a scattered density and is dyed through layers, so the dye penetrates more heavily into the less-dense sections and leaving the denser areas lighter in colour, highlighting the woven pattern inherent to the fabric.
