This 15oz Japanese selvedge denim has crafted from natural indigo rope-dyed yarns, a natural dyeing process that Studio D'Artisan has been incorporating into their brand collections for many years. Natural indigo has been commonly used as a fabric dye for centuries across Asia, within Japan in particular adopting it as an essential part of their culture, and using it prominently ever since.

These jeans feature a somewhat more accessible version of SDA's recurring natural indigo denim releases, with the yarns that make up these jeans having been rope-dyed in natural indigo, rather than being individually dyed by hand. The result is still a beautiful, outstanding pair of jeans with complex shades of natural indigo blues, but with a more uniform, less slubby texture at a more digestible pricepoint than usual. Finished with a selvedge cut fly and SDA branded buttons, Studio D'Artisan's Tapered fit is one of the brand's newest cuts, featuring a higher rise and less aggressive taper relative to their ever-popular Relaxed Taper fit.
