SC42955 14oz Selvedge Denim 1955Z Model Zipper Fly
Zipper fly jeans were first introduced in the 1950s as a fashionable, easier to wear alternative to denim as workwear. These jeans are based off a zippered model from the 1960s, and feature era-appropriate details as such, including offset belt loops made from a lighter weight denim, and shorter rows of stitching made with heavier threads, which made the jeans easier to make at the time. The silhouette is a Regular Straight similar to Sugar Cane's 1947 model, with a full straight leg and mid-high rise.
The fabric is a Sugar Cane original 14oz Japanese selvedge denim, woven on vintage shuttle looms from indigo rope-dyed cotton yarns. This is an original fabric produced specially for this 1955Z model, offering a different texture than Sugar Cane's 1947 selvedge denim.
