D5701 OW Natural Indigo Denim Western Shirt
Yet another very good denim shirt has arrived from Studio D'Artisan, and this one provides plenty of natural indigo goodness! While indigo dye is known as an organic compound, you may not know that thr majority of indigo dyes used today are actually synthetic indigo dyes. This is nothing to be concerned about, as even synthetic indigo performs its duty excellently, but it does mean that natural indigo dyed garments are a bit more rare and sought-after sometimes. Natural indigo is simply the indigo dye you know and love, but made directly from Indigofera, the plants from which the colour derives its name. Natural indigo is known to hold its colour longer, and thus is often harder to fade; and while it can be used for incredibly dark denim, this uses yarns that were rope-dyed a limited number of times, achieving this more vintage mid-blue colour that will be a bit easier to fade to a lightwash.
This is SDA's Natural Indigo Denim Western Shirt, crafted from a 12.8oz Japanese denim which has been rope-dyed in natural indigo to a mid-blue shade that will hold its colour well, and eventually fade to show the white cores of the yarns in high wear areas. It features authentic Western design detailing featuring pearl snap closures, western yokes, sawtooth pockets, triple snap cuffs and wrist placket, and classic tobacco chainstitch construction, with both the fabric and the shirt itself being made in Japan.
