3720 12oz Cube Sashiko Chore Jacket Indigo
Hiroki Kishimoto's decades of experience proprietary selvedge fabrics is one of Omoto's standout strengths, allowing them to offer an absurdly high-quality collection of fabrics, with Japanese sashiko being a definite standout. In addition to his 20+ years of experience producing selvedge denim, Kishimoto has also spent years helping some of Japan's most notable denim brands develop fabrics, including plenty of excellent sashiko and sashi-ori cloths.
Omoto's original Cube Sashiko is an absolute jawdropper, showcasing a complex geometric sashiko weave with a rough and rigid textured hand. With a 12oz weight this fabric comes in a little bit lighter than Omoto's double-woven Ori-Sashi Sashiko, with a more rigid, less plush feel that will lead to some incredible fades with time. The uniquely dyed yarns differentiate this piece further from other sashiko garments, with indigo rope-dyed warp yarns paired with black dyed weft yarns to create a deep colourway with plenty of depth to be found within the combination of the geometric sashiko weave and the contrasting dyes. Each finished Omoto piece represents the culmination of the skill and passion of the craftspeople of Japan's Sanbi region.
Cut as a classic chore coat, this piece features a loose body and a mid-thigh length, a vesatile cut that layers excellently over-top and underneath countless pieces. Features one interior and one exterior chest pocket, two waist pockets, and smooth concave metal buttons.
