Service Boot 2040 DCT Lucida Asfalto Horsebutt
All our Viberg Service Boots are on a single E width, we suggest sizing down one full size from your standard sneaker size or brannock measurement. Consider sizing down a half size if you have a wide foot.
Viberg's Service Boot is directly based on their original model, first produced in 1931. A similar pattern was also used by multiple nations as a standard issue military boot during WWII, however Viberg's quintessential Service Boot is modeled after the Canadian military's WWII Service Boot pattern.
We are excited to showcase our first Viberg DCT (Drilled Cap Toe) Service Boot in this Asfalto Horsebutt 2040 makeup, exclusive to very few retailers! This Asfalto Vachetta Lucida is an earthy grey tone with some brown undertones showing through - we expect it to age quite nicely, as the horsebutt should gain more texture through wear, while the brown undertones allow an otherwise grey boot to match a bit better with other earth tones for everday wear.
Viberg and Maryam Conceria share a similar passion for old-world craftsmanship and timeless quality, which has led them to both a longterm partnership, as well as the development of an exclusive, extremely high-quality leather that accurately reproduces the ethos of vintage bootmaking by strongly adhering to an ideal of "slow manufacturing." Vachetta Lucida is a heavyweight veg-tanned horsebutt, created by Maryam in partnership with Viberg. It is heavily stuffed with oils and fats and drum-tanned, allowing the tannins to fully pentrate the shells within the hide and noticeably softening the leather which allows it to form to the last better, while also improving comfort and texture for the wearer without compromising the thickness or weight of the horsebutt.
