0105XXW Wide Selvedge Denim 15.5oz One Wash Indigo
Originally referred to as their "1953 cut," Full Count's Wide fit is a comfortable, loose-fitting silhouette that was originally designed to reproduce the loose cuts of vintage workwear, and has since been adjusted to provide more room in the hips and thigh, creating a nice loose silhouette with a really great drape. These jeans are built with a high rise, loose top block, and straight leg with a very slight taper that isn't noticeable when worn.
This 15.5oz Japanese selvedge denim is Full Count's heavier weight alternative to their original 13.7oz selvedge, woven from thick, textured #6x#6 Zimbabwe cotton yarns, which gives this fabric a bit more weight, texture, and roughness relative to Full Count's original selvedge denim. Zimbabwe cotton is quite popular amongst Japanese denim makers due to the traditional qualities inherited by a jean made from its yarns, ageing and feeling like a true pair of vintage denim would. Woven at a low tension on vintage shuttle looms for a classic texture, this mid-heavy weight fabric holds up excellently while ageing incredibly, offering some beautiful vintage blues and texture as the jeans are washed and worn. The heavier nature of this denim serves well on chillier days, while remaining a very wearable year-round weight and with a satisfying break-in.
