Wells Oak
Inspired by classic workwear garments, Freenote Cloth's Wells Shirt is made with triple-needle chainstitch construction at high stress points and double-needle chainstitch construction elsewhere, just like a true, well-made work shirt. The chest pockets are acorn shaped and the collar is made with a throat latch, both design elements reminiscent of vintage workwear. Finished with custom corozo fisheye nut buttons.
This Wells Shirt is sewn from a 7.5oz Japanese double-weave cotton/linen moleskin, which offers a quite soft, substantial hand that feels deceptively thicker than you may expect a 7.5oz fabric to be. This is a property of the fabric being double-woven, which essentially incorporates two separate layers into one fabric. In this case, the smoother, softer "face" of the fabric has been interwoven with a more textured, twill-like underlayer, which makes the fabric more durable and feel thicker, while also giving it a more interesting handfeel.
