A brand new style for UES, these henley neck thermals are made from thick, 11.8 oz single cardigan rib stitch cotton knits, which feature plenty of slubby texture and vertical ribbing for a comfortable feel and heat retention. The fabric is woven from special textured uneven slub yarns, which are specially made to reproduce the texture of "GARA spun" fabrics. GARA spinning refers to the yarns that were produced by vintage spinning machines that rattle, making noises that sound like “GARA GARA.” Although these spinning machines are no longer in operation, the unevenness created by the imperfect machine produced a unique fabric, which UES takes the time and effort to reproduce on different machines. The final result is a thick 11.8 oz single-rib knit that authentically captures the unique GARA texture, finished with Japanese resin buttons and flat-felled seams sewn on vintage 4-needle workwear sewing machines.
