John Lofgren's 120 last runs large, we recommend sizing down one full size from your standard sneaker or brannock size.

The John Lofgren Bootmaker Ludlow boots were inspired by United States Navy officer Augustus Ludlow. Ludlow street in NYC, famous for its art and music scene is named after him. The renowned barber shop Ludlow & Blunt also uses his name. It was to Lieutenant Ludlow that Captain Lawrence on the USS Chesapeake during the ship's fight with HMS Shannon the immortal words, "Don't give up the ship" were spoken. We're confident Lieutenant Ludlow and the Quartermaster Board would approve of his namesake being used on these boots. Like all JLB footwear, the uppers are beautifully executed by a master Japanese craftsman that has been sewing their uppers from the very beginning. And of course, all JLB footwear is completely built in Japan using parts manufactured only in the USA, Japan, England, France, Germany and Italy. JLB is a brand that you can actually be proud to wear.

The horsebutt leather was developed by Shinki Hikaku tannery in Japan. This company specializes in horsehide leather tanning and is considered one of the best, if not the best, tanneries in the world. The horsebutt will feel a bit stiff in the beginning but soon will relax and form around your foot. The leather is visually stunning with always an interesting grain to admire.
