All our Viberg Service Boots are on a single E width, we suggest sizing down one full size from your standard sneaker size or brannock measurement. Consider sizing down a half size if you have a wide foot.

Viberg's Service Boot is directly based on their original model, first produced in 1931. A similar pattern was also used by multiple nations as a standard issue military boot during WWII, however Viberg's quintessential Service Boot is modeled after the Canadian military's WWII Service Boot pattern.

Back in 1940, with World War II in full swing, the US government specifically requested Chicago's own family-owned Horween Tannery to develop a leather for use in the US Military's Marine Corps. After two years of experimentation and development, Horween presented the military with their Marine Field Roughout, and amongst all the competitors, it was chosen as the upper for the storied Marine Field Shoe. It was so well-suited for the job, and so well-liked by the Marines and the military that it also started to be used for Army footwear within a short time. That same leather has continued to be a core part of Horween's leather production over the decades, and is still produced today! This exclusive Brooklyn Clothing x Viberg makeup features Horween's Marine Field Roughout leather uppers, a version of Horween's famous combination-tanned Chromexcel (CXL) made specifically for use on the roughout side, atop Viberg's 2040 last with Commando lug outsoles.
