2028-2 Selvedge Canvas Triple Pleated Blouson Jacket Brown
In line with the gold rush that occurred in the late 1800s, duck canvas garments became extremely useful workwear, and these fabrics are still used today, for both casual and workwear garments. This jacket is woven from deadstock white-line selvedge canvas, which has a finer weave and softer hand than many other duck canvases. This Triple Pleated Blouson is Full Count's reinterpretation of the workwear "blouses" that made up the bulk of workwear jackets prior to the creation of the Type II denim jacket. These blouse jackets were known for their somewhat cropped, boxy silhouette which is super functional for the ease-of-movement and abrasion-resistant qualities that would have benefitted labourers such as prospectors. In addition, they were known for asymmetrical front pockets, and pleating, which have also been reproduced by Full Count. Finally, the stitch work is fine in accordance with the results from vintage machines, keeping the seams in line with the vintage-repro aesthetic of the whole garment.
