Crescent Down Works' Down Shirt is an outstanding layering piece, performing very well as a midlayer in colder climates, or as a standalone jacket in milder climates or during the shoulder seasons. It's filled with 5.5 oz of 700-fill down, so it is very functional, without being a seriously insulated winter jacket.
This version is made with a Hybrid/Aero waxed cotton, a modernized version of the extremely rugged and functional original. This alternative pairs well with the down-filled inside, offering a similar level of water resistance, but without the stiffness and waxy handfeel.
