SIN25-02 Cheese Indigo Heavy Flannel Work Shirt
A heavyweight favourite, Samurai's rope-dyed indigo flannel is back once again. As always, the fabric is a heavy twill flannel that combines rope dyed indigo yarns normally used for denim (which gives an idea of the weight) with coloured yarns that are reactive dyed and will shed colour in a similar manner. Through wear, the indigo will shed and the white cores of the rope-dyed yarns will show through, so you can look forward to this shirt imporving with age just as a pair of jeans do.
However, this specific flannel has not been indigo hank-dyed like usual, but cheese-dyed instead. Cheese dyeing is a specific manner of indigo dyeing that involves wrapping up the yarns into a shape akin to a block of cheese, and ensures that the cores of the yarns are dyed to produce a deeper indigo colour that fades more slowly.
The cut and pattern of this shirt are inspired by vintage workwear, featuring twin flat buttoned chest pockets, elbow patches, and a clean, well fitting silhouette. The collar, cuffs, and placket are finished with navy seam tape, and the garment is completed with a set of unique, proprietary indigo dyed nut buttons, all sewn up and overbuilt with robust winding triple-stitch seams and triple-chainstitch side seams with runoff.
