Wesco's MP95 last is a D width and runs slightly large, so we recommend sizing down one half size from your properly measured Brannock size, or standard US sneaker size. If you have a very wide foot, consider going true to size. Each boot also includes a leather footbed, which can be removed to provide more volume or to accomodate a different insole.

The long wait is over, and our newest selection of custom Wesco x Brooklyn Clothing boot makeups are now available in-store and online - featuring some absurdly rugged leather uppers, long lasting Vibram outsoles, and Wesco's traditional overbuilt Pacific Northwest heritage construction. And of course, those production techniques are combined with Brooklyn's own design preferences to create a duo of seriously versatile boot styles that will happily hold up to harsh climates and only improve with wear. Our custom Brooklyn x Wesco makeups share that same Wesco DNA as their heavy duty workboots, overbuilt to similar heritage specifications with some of America's top quality roughout leathers used for the uppers, double, triple, and quadruple sitched seams, thick full-grain leather midsoles, hardy rubber outsoles, steel shanks, and of course, traditional and resoleable stitchdown construction to attach the boot to the sole.

West Coat Shoe Company (Wesco) was founded by John H. Shoemaker over a century ago, in 1918, in order to provide the PNW with footwear that would hold up to the harsher, wetter climates present along the West Coast and the Rocky Mountains, while providing the timber camps and forest firefighters with hardy leather resoleable boots to continually fill the roles required of them over many seasons, and preventing fatigue to allow the wearers to complete their long shifts and essential work. Wesco, still family-owned, has remained in Scapoose, Oregon since their inception, and are now just as well known for crafting truly unique custom footwear as they are for their PNW workboots.

This makeup is our take on Wesco's Hendrik Boot, built on the usual MP95 last with Wesco's regular toe shape for a classic silhouette that pairs perfectly with a natural wedge sole for casual and chore wear. This Hendrik is built with Seidel's Brown Oil Tan leather, and a matching tongue. Details include a straight toe cap, brass eyelets, tonal brown upper stitching, and a Vibram #269 Western outsoles paired with brown leather midsoles, pairing excellently with the upper.

This iteration of our custom Wesco Hendrik Boot is made from Seidel's Brown Oil Tan leather. An oily hide originally intended for work boots, and made to hold up to the heavy wear that such footwear often sees, Oil Tan hides offer excellent durability and longevity, combined with a soft, supple feel that lends itself to an easy break-in. Despite its thickness, Seidel's Oil Tan is relatively easy to break-in and should allow you to find comfort from the initial wears, all thanks to the intensive processes that pound the oil into the hide, achieving durability and patina-potential much greater than the soft hand would imply.

“A shoe is no better than the leather it is made of—and all the leather on the market is not worth a ‘whoop’ where there is no shoemaking skill.” - John H. Shoemaker, Founder, West Coast Shoe Company
