5718 Narogi Army Sashiko Work Shirt
Sewn from a seasonal green version of Studio D'Artisan's original Noragi Sashiko fabric inspired by military shirts, this shirt features a looser, more CPO-adjacent cut with larger, flap-closure chest pockets when compared to SDA's usual Noragi Sashiko workshirts, in accordance with the military influence. SDA's Noragi Sashiko is a jacquard-woven sashiori with heavy horizontal and vertical stitching, made up of tonal, contrasing, and heathered threads creates a complex, aged look which will become even more textured with washing, as the threads shrink and pucker slightly. A "norogi" is a traditional Japanese workcoat, ubiquitous with the Japanese working class, and heavily tied to sashiko and its functionality in repairing workwear garments. As such, SDA's intention behind their Noragi Sashiko is to express the textures and colours of used workwear, through the lens of the skilled modern artisans that craft these shirts.
