All our Viberg Service Boots are on a single E width, we suggest sizing down one full size from your standard sneaker size or brannock measurement. Consider sizing down a half size if you have a wide foot.

Viberg's Service Boot is directly based on their original model, first produced in 1931. A similar pattern was also used by multiple nations as a standard issue military boot during WWII, however Viberg's quintessential Service Boot is modeled after the Canadian military's WWII Service Boot pattern.

Wooly CXL is one of Horween's many variations of their world-class Chromexcel leather, which is heavily stuffed with unrefined lanolin, or "wool grease," a natural fat that is collected as a byproduyct of wool production. The lanolin makes this leather more oily, giving it a richer tone and luster. Also, the lanolin is also heat-sensitive at a low enough temperature that it should allow this leather to mold to your foot a bit better than other leathers. We are excited to be one of the only stockists offering this makeup!

CXL is a hot-stuffed combination tanned leather that goes through a lengthy tanning process at Horween's facility in Chicago, where it spends a month traveling from floor to floor, becoming heavily impregnated with grease and wax in the process. The end product is a soft, supple, and flexible hide which is packed full of oils, which gives Chromexcel the excellent pullup that it is known for - when the leather is flexed or bent, the oils are displaced and beautiful tonal highs and lows become visible. CXL only gets better with age, and taking care of the leather is as simple as it gets. Frequent brushing will blend scuffs and bring wicked patina, while the inherent oils in the hide keep it from drying out quickly.
