N1 Boot Nero Vachetta Teacore Horsebutt
All our Viberg Service Boots are on a single E width, we suggest sizing down one full size from your standard sneaker size or brannock measurement. Consider a half-size down only if you have very wide feet as the 2040 last accomodates higher volume feet.
Viberg's N1 Boot is modeled off of vintage examples of WWII boots from their own archive, and closely references those originals in its details, as well as its foundational shape and materials. A rounder 2040 last, gun black eyelets, antique brown leather midsoles, an unlined upper, and unstructured toe all reference vintage military boots. Built with a beautiful Italian black teacore horsebutt born from Viberg's longterm partnership with Maryam Conceria, these N1s feature brogue toe caps and Dainite Ridgeway outsoles. The end result is a quite excellent Viberg interpretation of a classic WWII black military boot that will age outstandingly, as the brown core of the horsebutt begins to show itself through wear - there is very little that accurately captures an authentic vintage look better than a pair of broken-in teacore boots.
Viberg and Maryam Conceria share a similar passion for old-world craftsmanship and timeless quality, which has led them to both a longterm partnership, as well as the development of an exclusive, extremely high-quality leather that accurately reproduces the ethos of vintage bootmaking by strongly adhering to an ideal of "slow manufacturing." Vachetta Lucida is a heavyweight veg-tanned horsebutt, created by Maryam in partnership with Viberg. It is heavily stuffed with oils and fats and drum-tanned, allowing the tannins to fully pentrate the shells within the hide and noticeably softening the leather which allows it to form to the last better, while also improving comfort and texture for the wearer without compromising the thickness or weight of the horsebutt. This run of Vachetta, Nero, is a black teacore, so it starts off as a sharp deep black that will begin to show the brown "core" of the hide with wear, just like a vintage pair of black military boots. The black contrasts nicely with the antique brown midsoles and the teacore edges of the panels, and truly gives the appearance of a vintage service boot.
