This is a presale listing. These boots are scheduled for November 2025.

John Lofgren's 110 last runs slightly large, we recommend sizing down one half size from your standard sneaker size or Brannock measurement.

John Lofgren Bootmaker Engineer Boots are based on careful examination of several pairs of vintage engineers from John's archive. Hours and hours of design, redesign, and more pattern adjustments and sample builds than anyone could possibly tally. The end result represents "Made in Japan" at its finest, painstaking attention to detail, master craftsmanship. Their engineer boots stand as the masterpiece of the John Lofgren Bootmaker lineup, a boot that conveys the passion and commitment to excellence of our brand. These are the pinnacle of engineer boots.

This exceptional horsebutt leather originates from the renowned Shinki Hikaku tannery in Japan, a distinguished expert in the art of horsehide leather tanning, widely regarded as one of the finest in the world. When you first experience this leather, you may notice a slight initial stiffness, but rest assured, it swiftly molds and conforms to your foot for exceptional comfort. What truly sets this leather apart is its captivating visual allure, consistently presenting a fascinating grain pattern to captivate your gaze. Shinki Hikaku's dedication to preserving the natural character of the hide is evident, as very minimal, if any, surface correction is performed. This approach allows the authentic marks acquired by the horse during its life, such as those from bug bites or encounters with a sharp tree branch, to remain subtly visible. These imperfections are not blemishes but rather cherished enhancements, enriching the narrative of these exquisite hides.
