It is up there with the blue jean, the oxford shirt, and the U.S. Army fatigue jacket in the uppermost echelon of timeless essentials. An absolute staple in heritage garments and casual menswear, the chambray shirt is so essential that it easily bridged the gap across multiple mesnwear styles, often paired with prep and military staples just as easily as it pairs with workwear, or simply just worn with a pair of selvedge denim. UES' standard chambray shirt is designed as an ode to vintage chambray workshirts. This is a high-quality, shuttle-loomed reproduction of the original vintage shirts, made higher specifications with a beautiful Japanese selvedge chambray and double-needle chainstitched seams, taking the original and making it even better. UES has chosen to forgo some of the true vintage design specs such as asymmetrical chest pockets and a throat latch to present a slightly more versatile chambray pattern. That said, this is very much still a seriously impressive reproduction that retains the vintage aesthetic with a smaller collar and stitch spacing while toning down a couple of the more divisive vintage specs in favour of versatility, all while taking the construction and fabric to the next level.
