6116 Double Face Indigo x Stripe Type 3 Jacket

PBJ's 6116 Type III Jacket is a modified special version of their 14oz 'XX' Type III, featuring a custom fabric for this edition of the garment. The textile geniuses at Pure Blue Japan have come up with a new take on the ever popular blanket lined denim jacket - rather than taking a denim or other indigo fabric and lining it with wool, PBJ have instead opted to use two looms to weave one fabric! This is a double faced fabric featuring a soft yet substantial indigo cotton exterior, and a plush, brushed interior very akin to a blanket lining. By using two looms in tandem, weaving together into one fabric, this double faced cloth was created, and offers a slightly lighter-weight version of the functionality achieved by blanket lining a denim jacket. While retaining all other design details, PBJ have made a truly special Type III with this fabric; something that retains all of the classic Type III styling and most of the function of a blanket lined denim jacket, but with a much more unique and more interesting fabric that will still age tremendously.

Originally invented by Levi's in the early 1960's, the Type III has since become synonymous with "denim jacket," easily overshadowing its predecessors in the general eye of the public. While the Type I and II are still loved by vintage and denim enthusiasts, the Type III is certainly the king of denim jackets, with a ubiquitous styling that has become a permanent mainstay in global fashion, let alone at home in North America. "Timeless" is thrown around a lot, but a Type III fits the description perfectly. This is a beautifully made staple garment that will likely be with you forever, and improving all the while as it fades and ages. Like most, PBJ's 6114 is based off traditional Type III's, an as such offers a slightly slimmer fit than a Type II. Woven from PBJ's 14oz XX denim, this Type III features classic enamel buttons, traditional lemon & tobacco chainstitching, an interior leather patch, and waist adjusters, all of which reproduce the classic details from Levi's original Type III denim jacket.
