Made in USA, as they have been for nearly 90 years, from premium full-grain leather, waterproof GORE-TEX liners and rugged Vibram® outsoles, these boots are built for those who log the hours, in the workshop or on the trails of the Cascades and beyond.

Made in Danner's Portland, Oregon factory and inspired by the original Mountain Light, the Mountain Pass Winter was created to handle cold days and icy city streets. A breathable GORE-TEX lining and Thinsulate™ insulation keep feet warm and dry in slush and snow. An updated construction method allows Danner to significantly reduce weight and create out-of-the-box comfort that doesn't come standard for most classic hiking boots. The Vibram® Arctic Grip AT outsole was designed to keep your footing secure on wet ice, frozen ground or whatever else the colder months have in store.

The Mountain Pass Artic Night features full-grain leather uppers for longevity, the strongest and most durable form of leather. The one-piece leather upper design eliminates openings to keep debris and water out. By combining the shank, lasting board, and midsole into a single unified piece that is molded to match the shape and contours of their boots, Danner were able to reduce a significant amount of weight from the boot without sacrificing support.100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX liners ensure that no water gets in, while allowing sweat and moisture to get out, while 200G Thinsulate insulation keeps the cold at bay. Specifically designed to perform on wet ice, the Vibram® Arctic Grip Christy outsole is made entirely of rubber without any metal components or inserts. This special compound excels in cold, icy or snowy conditions when superior traction is needed most.

Handcrafted to provide a wider platform, Danner's legendary stitchdown construction offers increased stability underfoot, as well as being a rebuildable construction method - Danner, as well as many cobblers, are able to resole the boots when needed, extending their lifetimes exponentially and making them lifetime boots with proper care.

This EE width is designed to fit an average width foot, similar to a D width. Portland made 503 last has a casual fit without compromising Danner's comfortable lace-to-toe construction. Fits true to size.
