Drover Shirt Navy Sateen
The Drover is Dehen's very first foray into shirting and dare we say, they've knocked it out of the park! Not that we are at all surprised, given their storied history, proven quality, and classic design sense.
The Drover Shirt is Dehen's take on the essential U.S. military CPO shirt with a slight western lean, featuring two (very functional) squared-off chest pockets with similarly angled flap closures, as per the original military inspiration. Inspired by the original, Dehen's version is done up in one of the absolute nicest cotton sateens we have ever seen. Dehen has put their own spin on the piece with pearl snap closures down the placket and finishing up the chest pockets, a pen pocket in the left chest pocket, and a slight curved hem down low. Like all of their garments, this shirt is seriously overbuilt in terms of construction and will stand up to the test of time, but due to Dehen's expertise in patternmaking and fabric sourcing, it is also seriously comfortable, and a joy to wear.
This fabric is sourced from Japan, and has, in our opinion, a perfect hand for a sateen cotton - it finds a perfect balance between a textured heritage fabric and classic sateen, so it is not too slick without leaning too far towards slubby; upon inspection the fabric has lovely texture that will allow it to wash and wear excellently, but still has a solid sateen feel while avoiding the slickness that some have. We are blown away.
Stick with your usual Dehen size. This is a true shirt whereas the Crissman is an overshirt, so this runs a little slimmer and slightly shorter as a result. Take the same size, and this should fit very well.
