Varsity V-Neck Sweater Black/Offwhite

A new style for us but a decades-old classic for Dehen, the Varsity V-Neck has returned to Dehen's lineup after taking a vacation for the past few seasons. It was simply time to bring such a classic silhouette back into the starting line-up, and give it some opening minutes on the court. This traditional cut has been given some matching traditional yet bold details, in the form of three varsity stripes along the upper left arm. Varsity stripes are traditional varsity details, calling back to Dehen's history and origins as one of the most prominent knit sportswear manufacturers for collegiate and varsity sport teams. The tradition exists to acknowledge the accomplishments of student athletes, with a sleeve stripe being given for each year an athlete was recognized in their sport, such as for making the varsity basketball team. So, a sweater with three stripes would be worn by a skilled, accomplished athlete.

Dehen's V-Neck is knit by Dehen in their Portland factory, taking advantage of their midweight three-end knit for a softer, more versatile weight for a pullover sweater, relative to their traditional four-end knit used for cardigans and knit jackets. This is the same 100% worsted wool knit used for their Oxford Shawls and Naval Stripe Crewnecks as well. In addition to the varsity stripes, these V-Necks are finished with self-fabric v-neck collars, raglan sleeves, reinforced internal knit elbow patches, and 2 x 2 rollback knit cuffs.
