Drover Shirt Smoke Gabardine Wool
The second edition of Dehen's Drover Shirt has come to fruition, following up on the initial releases from Spring with a super handsome wool gabardine, an excellently consistent staple fabric within menswear. Traditionally used as a suiting fabric, gabardine differentiates itself from most wools by its smooth, soft hand and dense weave, inherently making it more applicable to shirts and suits relative to looser knit wools, such as worsted or melton wool.
The Drover Shirt is Dehen's take on the essential U.S. military CPO shirt with a slight western lean, featuring two (very functional) squared-off chest pockets with similarly angled flap closures, as per the original military inspiration. Dehen has put their own spin on the piece with pearl snap closures down the placket and finishing up the chest pockets, a pen pocket in the left chest pocket, and a slight curved hem down low. Like all of their garments, this shirt is seriously overbuilt in terms of construction and will stand up to the test of time, but due to Dehen's expertise in patternmaking and fabric sourcing, it is also seriously comfortable, and a joy to wear.
Stick with your usual Dehen size. This is a true shirt whereas the Crissman is an overshirt, so this runs a little slimmer and slightly shorter as a result. Take the same size, and this should fit very well.
