Service Boot 2030 Horween Toasted Coconut Dublin
All our Viberg Service Boots are on a single E width, we suggest sizing down one full size from your standard sneaker size. Consider a half size down if you have wide feet.
Viberg's Service Boot is directly based on their original model, first produced in 1931. A similar pattern was also used by multiple nations as a standard issue military boot during WWII, however Viberg's quintessential Service Boot is modeled after the Canadian military's WWII Service Boot pattern.
Horween's Dublin tannage is one of their most authentically traditional offerings, featuring rich, full-grain veg-tanned steerhide stuffed full of a blend of natural waxes. The final product is a supple leather with incredible depth and variety of colour in an excellent finish due to all of the oils and waxes within the hide, ideal for showcasing natural grain and for creating a patina-worthy pair of boots. In the case of Toasted Coconut Dublin, the same veg-tanned full-grain leather is taken to a rich orange-brown tone with a supple hand-glazed waxy finish that will lead to excellent patina and texture variation as the leather ages, as expected from Horween's Dublin and its deep colour and character.
Dublin's tanning process involves a more complex, richer blend of oils and waxes relative to Horween's usual veg-tan offerings by employing the use of the formulas specifically developed and normally intended for use in veg-tanning their Shell Cordovan hides. This is an essential step in creating the beautiful colour depth within the final product, just as the final steps serve to showcase the incredible natural grain exposed via the tanning process. Dublin is one of the family-owned Chicago tannery's most rugged offerings, with great pullup and top-tier patina potential to further showcase the depth of colour and texture within this world-class leather.
