To create this workshirt, D'Artisan has implemented the use of "Stray Sashiko" in a jacquard weave using slub yarn of the same color in places and combining it with heather yarn, the shirt expresses a paler colour that seems to be worn out. The sashiko thread that runs vertically and horizontally expresses the warmth of hand-sewn, so the direction and type of stitching varies throughout the fabric, and when washed it will shrink to create complex irregularities on the surface of the fabric. This is a true recreation of traditional Japanese workwear, expressed with modern craftsmanship, wisdom, and pride. D'Artisan's "Noragi Sashiko" is a perfect example of Japanese tradition and craftsmanship, manifested as an incredible short sleeve workshirt. Sashiko has a thick texture, so you can wear it by itself or over a tee, and is finished with corozo nut buttons.

Cotton clothing was very valuable when Japanese casual wear was still Japanese. Surviving the cold and the heat, it was an important thing that was indispensable for living. Even if the kimono was worn out completely, it would be repaired with patches stitched onto the original garment, or else the original garment itself would be repurposed to patch other items. People at that time never wasted their clothes and reused them repeatedly, resulting in the Japanese art of sashiko mending. The combination of patterns created in this way and the warmth of hand-sashiko give off an unparalleled beauty due to the combination of patterns and the warm authenticity of hand-sashiko.

We recommend to stick with your standard chest size, consider sizing up once as the construction method makes this shirt ever so slightly tighter than our other SDA garments. Wash separately, as the colour may bleed at first.
